Dear Ms. Amparo,
We would like to introduce you to the World Ocean Council (WOC) - the Global Blue Economy Business and Investment Organization.
The WOC brings together 35,000+ industry, investment and innovation stakeholders from around the world and across the maritime sectors - for leadership, collaboration and action on sustainable development and conservation. See www.oceancouncil.org and further below for more information.
WOC is leading or partnering in many EC projects related to the Blue Economy, ocean sustainable development, etc. For example, we are leading the GREEN MARINE MED project funded under EMFAF (on the topic of Green Shipping in the Mediterranean); leading the MEDSEPLAN project funded under the Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership (on the topic of data and scenarios for Maritime Spatial Planning); and are partners in various on-going projects including the HORIZON-funded SEA02-CDR project (on the topic of marine carbon dioxide removal) and EU-PolarNET II on polar research.
Our special role is to facilitate the engagement of the private sector in EC projects, and in Mission Ocean overall. If we aren’t able to meet with you during the Matchmaking event on Monday, we would be very interested to meet with you this week during EU Ocean Days, or in a video conference call in the near future.
We look forward to hearing from you and to meeting.
Paul Holthus, Founding President and CEO

Lisa Simone de Grunt, Director of Programmes
