Noria is working on sustainable, affordable solutions to the plastic waste problem in inland waters; from the city to the sea. For this reason, we developed the 3R-method; Research, Remove, and Reduce.
In the Research step, we map out the locations where plastic can be collected and use several techniques to monitor the plastic flux in the waterways. In the Remove step, we remove the plastic debris from the water with our energy-efficient and fish-friendly systems. By removing the plastic waste and using it for prevention and mitigation strategies, we make sure to Reduce the plastic pollution in water.
In this way, Noria hopes to solve the plastic waste problem in water in 10 years and wants to ensure that there is no more work (also for Noria herself) in this business. And then we will tackle another problem!
At Noria we work together in a social team and combine working on meaningful projects and having a great time at your job.
Ocean Sciences Institute, Aix-Marseille University. The institute provides a new approach federating oceanography (including biology, chemistry and physical oceanography), climate science, digital and robotic sciences, marine engineering reinforced by ocean economy and policy, as well as maritime geography and history sciences to implement both research and training activities. The institute is designed to train a new generation of worldwide talented and selected scientists, engineers, lawyers, and managers to tackle challenging oceanic issues. The project is undertaken through both (1) Master courses-based education that is available at AMU, Toulon University, and Ecole Centrale Marseille, (2) high-level research-based training with increased immersion within our research laboratories together with industries of the Innovation Sea Cluster (Pôle Mer Méditerranée) network, CNRS, IRD, IRSN, IFREMER .
Oceanus NGO is a research group dedicated to the preservation and regeneration of biodiversity. Established in 2005, we have been at the forefront of environmental initiatives, with a specific focus on developing and executing initiatives that foster the regeneration of biodiversity in our oceans.
At the heart of our success is our team of dedicated experts, led by Fabio Siniscalchi biologist and journalist, a visionary in the field of biodiversity regeneration projects. With a wealth of experience and a passion for marine conservation, Fabio has been instrumental in shaping and executing initiatives that have garnered international acclaim.
The organization operates under a dynamic management structure.
The team comprises marine biologists, project managers, community engagement specialists, and administrative personnel. Each staff member plays a vital role in research, project execution, community outreach, and organizational administration.
Our most recent triumph was the successful conclusion of a biodiversity regeneration project in the waters of Sardinia in 2023, beneficiary of EU Funds: European Maritime Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (Emfaf) This project aimed to restore and enhance the marine biodiversity of the region, addressing key environmental challenges.
